Set out with my napsack, headed far from home
hitch-hiked cross the ocean – all the way to Rome
right straight to the Vatican – that’s where I’ll find hope
to get to Life’s big answers, directly from the Pope
they let me in & I was seen
I asked “Hey Pontiff, what does it all mean?”

He said I LOVE CAKE
BUT I DON’T LIKE THE POUNDS
I LOVE COFFEE IN MY SHAKE
BUT I DON’T LIKE THE GROUNDS
FAITH & HOPE ARE MY CONCERN
BUT CARBS AND GLUTES ARE WHAT I YEARN
ONE TRUE THING THAT I HAVE LEARNED
LIFE’S A LOST AND FOUND
I LOVE CAKE, BUT I DON’T LIKE THE POUNDS

Kinda disappointed, if that was all I’d get
so I kept heading eastward, way off to Tibet
high up on a mountaintop, there’s the Dalai Lama
Smiley and friendly, he’s the same age as my mama
they let me in, & i was seen
“Well, HELLO DALAI – what does it all mean?”

He said I LOVE CAKE
BUT I DON’T LIKE THE POUNDS
I LOVE COFFEE IN MY SHAKE
BUT I DON’T LIKE THE GROUNDS
REINCARNATION’S MY CONCERN
WE’LL KNOW MORE WHEN I RETURN
ONE TRUE THING THAT I HAVE LEARNED

Well who’s gonna have the answers
to everything I seek
Karelina the Ballerina
or football’s Jimmy the Greek?
Perhaps the favorite uncle
or my good ole mom and dad
maybe that wise old owl from that old tv ad (one, two, three)

So I hopped upon my spaceship
went past Tatooine
Got a pal on Dagobah
he’ll know what I mean
I’m talking the muppet version
not the CGI
Special effects, smoke & mirrors
don’t make a real Jedi
He seemed so wise
though small & green
I said “Hey Yoda, what does it all mean?

He said CAKE YODA LOVE
THE POUNDS YODA HATE
WATCH MY YODA FIGURE, I DO,
& PLUS WHO NEEDS THE WEIGHT?
THE FORCE I LOVE, BUT I HATE THE DROID
THE DARK SIDE MAKE YODA ANNOYED
THEY WIPED US OUT AND I’M UNEMPLOYED
BUT THE LOST AND FOUND IS LIFE
CAKE YODA LOVE, BUT THE POUNDS YODA NOT LIKE
